Couchpilot Remote

Privacy Policy

Last updated 18 August 2026

The short version: Couchpilot Remote collects nothing about you. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers. Nothing you do in the app is sent anywhere except to the television you choose to control, on your own Wi-Fi network.

What the app stores

Two things, both kept only on your device:

Removing the TV in the app, or deleting the app, removes both.

What leaves your device

Only commands to your television, sent directly to it across your local network: button presses, volume changes, power, and input or app selection. These never travel over the internet and never reach the developer or any third party.

Local network access

iOS asks permission to access devices on your local network. The app needs this to find your TV and send it commands. It is used for nothing else.

Data collection

None. The app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. There is no tracking, no analytics library, no crash reporting service, and no advertising identifier. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to request, correct, or delete from us.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.

Trademarks

Couchpilot Remote is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise associated with Sony, Roku, or any other television manufacturer. Product names and trademarks referred to on this page are used only to describe which televisions the app can talk to, and remain the property of their respective owners.
